they cancled my surgery! !

Very very upset not even sure where to put this .I drove all the way to the hospital 100 miles from home.I was admitted and blood work done IV put in paperwork signed.Then the anastigioligist comes in and proceeds to ask a bunch of the same questions.
He them starts thumbing through the binder and then gets really honkerblonked off.He leaves me to go to the nursing station and asked them for the cardiac arrest notes from my last attempt at surgery.
Long story short it was not there .So they cancled my surgery! ! Now I have to wait till next Friday at 5 am ...Has anyone ever delt with this???

Mine was cancelled but not as abrubptly as yours. I was scheduled for 27April. At my pre op CT scan on 8April they found some growths on my liver. So the oncologist has to do my surgery. So.....no surgery. I do have my new pre op date but when the 27th came and went I got pretty bummed. And every day I've been thinking "oh, today I would be doing this....."

I know it's hard, but it's best to have everything correct for surgery.

I know this must be beyond aggravating. The good news is that the anesthesiologist is taking your CHF seriously. It's a shame that the hospital didn't get the information to him *beforehand* so that he could be prepared to safely handle anesthesia for a patient with your particular issues. But he's certainly going to be prepared next Friday!

I am so sorry your surgery was cancelled because all of your paperwork was not in order. I know it is very upsetting. . But, your anesthesiologist has to have the correct information for him to do his job and for your health to be protected.

I hope all goes smoothly next Friday.
