TAH: Keeping Ovaries & Tubes

How will this effect my emotions? please help!?

Hi honey. I have my ovaries and tubes and I think there working, the first 3 weeks post op emotions were all over the place but I am now 15 weeks today post op. I was very Pmtish before op. But nothing now well nothing to speak of. I don't know how old you are but they will help you go into a more natural menopause. My gyne says about 3 years earlier than if you had not gad surgery. You will still produce a egg if your doing so now but the egg dies and gets re absorbed. You will feel better emotionally with your eggs and tubes in place. Far better to keep them than take them out

My surgery is next Friday and I will be keeping my ovaries and tubes aswell. Is it true that once a month you will feel bloated and be a bit moody?

Nope well not for me. As my periods were all over the place I can't say when they should arrive. You will have bloating for some weeks post op cause of the gases they use to separate uterus from bowles and bladder. I have not been moody since op at all had the odd quiet day and can't put my finger on why. Some people may get Pmt still if you had it really bad but I feel like a teenager again.
