Weight gain and brain fog!

Ok I know that weight gain can be an issue with sudden menopause, but does taking HRT help with this? I went out for dinner last night and had pasta (ugh, but yum). Today, I'm in a brain fog and not thinking clearly. Also my clothes don't fit right. I'm just upset today and wondering if the food has alot to do with it. I probably already know the answer. For some reason I can't get my head straight about eating right and losing weight, but I really want to. I'm doing Weight Watchers too, but for some reason, something is blocking me. Also, I know with night sweats it's hard to sleep well which can also contribute to weight gain. I just feel helpless.

I'm not taking HRT just yet as I'm holding off for a little while because of some endo remnants post surgery (almost 5 months now!). I see my Dr. next week for regular check up.

Has anyone else had this experience? If so, what have you done to help it? Just looking for some advice.

Thanks for reading, listening, helping!

Weight gain and brain fog!

Hi toots,

I've been walking a bit more each day. That has helped me with controlling my weight and with the 'fog'.

Be sure to mention these things to your doctor next week. There may be some things that he or she could suggest that might help ease your symptoms.

Weight gain and brain fog!

I too have found that walking more has helped with the fog...coincidence or help, who knows. But I walk 45 mins a day for exercise then walk the dog several other times a day.

Weight gain and brain fog!

The fog and and weight gain may be caused by what you are eating and how much. Sometimes you get symptoms of dumping syndrome from eating a lot of carbs at once, this is especially true if it is concentrated sugars. But any meal high in carbs can do it. You can look up more about dumping syndrome online, just do a Google search.

Hope you feel better,
Reggie
