Who can I be prepared to receive bills from?

We paid the hospital withing several weeks of surgery. Then two months went by and I received another bill, stamped PAST DUE, from an Anestesiologist office, who I never received a bill from. Then two months later a bill from a pathologist, also a PAST DUE bill. Is there someone else I might be getting a bill from? Do any one of you know?

Who can I be prepared to receive bills from?

Hello,

After my surgery I received invoices from the following:

the hospital
the physician (separate form the hospital)
anesthesiology
pathology
radiology

You could call the hospital where you had your surgery and ask what other physicians participated in your care while you were there.

Who can I be prepared to receive bills from?

I did call the hospital, they said "they don't know", ask my insurance and they don't have any claims. It is a spinning wheel that keeps spinning. I didn't hear from radiology yet, thank you for your quick response, my best to you

The list from lynnm sounds right on to me. One word of advice check ALL of your statements. I got my statement from the doctor and they had charged me with someone elses entire bill. The first thing that clued me off was that they had the wrong date of my hyst. They also had the wrong doctor, and the wrong type of hyst. too! Wishing you the best.

Who can I be prepared to receive bills from?

Hello ladies!

Come and live in Germany! the Germans complain about their health insurance all the time, they have no idea how lucky they are!Everything I've read here by HysterSisters about American Health Insurance is a nightmare!

I'm a spoiled British women used to the National Health, where there are reasons to grumble but at least the stress of bills and costs don't exist.I've been living in Germany for 13years and pay200euro(give or take) a month and everything is covered, small fees every now and then but nothing as horrendous as by you guys! And everyone is insured here with or without a job!

Have a from ME!

Greetings from Germany

Who can I be prepared to receive bills from?

With my insurance, I only had to pay $30.00 to the doctor and $150.00 to the hospital. Insurance took care of the rest. I had to pay for my prescriptions because we have a $200.00 deductible on medicines, but I was surprised at how little the pain meds cost! I've never really had insurance before and I'm SO glad I've got a job with benefits now.

Who can I be prepared to receive bills from?

Thanks Leddy and omighty,

I've paid 800.00 for my surgery and 170.00 to the anesthesiologist and more coming for the pathologist. I have also paid hundreds for my broken foot, ct scan is still financially pending and then hundreds on my daughter's ENT still needing payment. But I do appreciate our insurance and know without it I'd have to pay mega bucks more.

Thanks,

Who can I be prepared to receive bills from?

I've gotten papers from insurance showing others have been paid (assisting surgeon...) but I haven't had to pay them anything. I guess it was covered by the insurance. It's amazing how many different people (or companies or whatever) are involved when you have surgery!

Who can I be prepared to receive bills from?

I love my insurance, but the billing can be confusing.

First, the doctor, the hospital, the anaesthesiologist, the pathologist, the lab and anyone else involved send you a "not-a-bill" to let you know they're submitting your claim to the insurance company. I've learned to look at that so I know if it's mine. Then the insurance company sends me a "not-a-bill" to tell me what the biller asked for, what they will pay, what they bargained it down to, and what my share is. THEN I wait for the real bill to come so I can pay it. Takes months.

My gyno's bill came to 5,000.00.

I pay 115.00.

The premiums are killer, but at times like this I don't regret it. Current theory is that you should ditch the insurance company and just put your premiums into a medical account, which you don't touch for anything but medical expenses. Bur if I did that, how could I bargain down the costs?

Who can I be prepared to receive bills from?

If I remember right, I got a bill from the hospital, my surgeon, anesthesiologist, pathologist, and lab.....my insurance paid for a big chunk of everything, thankfully. I can't believe it's been almost a year ago. On September 4th it will be a year since the first day of my last period. WOW....how weird is that?
