Question about Q-pumps

HI, I'm new to this site and had my hysterectomy last Tuesday (8/15). I'm doing ok but had to be sent home with the Q-pump in my belly.
Is anyone familiar with this? It was used to send pain meds directly to the stomach area but it was stuck (it's a thin wire) when they tried to remove it. I'm curious if this has happened to anyone else. They think it could be stuck on a stitch and I may have to wait until the stitch desolves and that could be weeks.
I'm really concerned about this and it's not helping me recovery any quicker with something else to worry about.
Any replies that have knowledge of this would be appreciated.

Question about Q-pumps

I have no personal experience with the On-Q pain pump, but we do have some threads discussing it. You can use the search tab to find them. You can also do a web search which is how I found this particular link with information: http://www.askyoursurgeon.com/onqsolution.php.

Best wishes to you!

Question about Q-pumps

Gosh Mets Fan, so sorry to hear yours is stuck. I had one and loved it. Mine actually had two catheters one deep and one superficial...the superficial one fell out early after 24 hours but the deep one lasted 5 days and then I was able to pull it out. Loved the relief it gave without having to take as many narcotics. Can't imagine how it could get stuck...was your surgeon experienced in using them? Let us know how they get it out.
