Re: Awful urethra pain after hysterectomy... Ouch!

My Dr gave me urogesic blue for the Pain and spasms it's helping. Could be some of the meds he put in my bladder too. Hope you get some answers it's not fun. We will know if I'm in menopause when my blood work comes back.

Yes I talked w nurse she said trauma from catheter. It's getting better now, I'm 9 wks out, worse in morning. Just watch for signs of bladder infection and drink plenty of juice and when you have sex, pee before and after. Tub soaks helped me, but my dr okayed that from day 1. I had no bladder work done, but was a TVH and am 44.

I've started having trouble peeing..Seems my pee stops in my clit area..Still feel the need to pee afterwards but can't..I haven't had any trouble peeing until now...Feel that I need to pee more often and my flow has lessened too...My vagina has been throbbing and burning and I think it's swollen. ..Along with fever and hot flashes I've started getting yesterday! And I kept my ovaries...I wanna know what makes me stop peeing in mid flow. ..

That's how mine started I have been diagnosed with Interstitial cystitis. And to top it off got the call today that my blood work came back that I am in menopause so it didn't help to keep the one ovary. I'm to see the menopause Nurse practitioner in 2 wks. Hopefully estrogen therapy will help too. But still have to have bladder scope to see how severe the cystitis is. I went to a urogyn I'm 4 months out on 4/7 and kept thinking things would get better but they haven't. Don't wait. The sooner you start treatment the better! I wish I had! Mine started around 4 wks postoperative. If your gyn won't help see a gyn/urology specialist. Hugs I feel your pain!
