I am so happy I live in a time that I have the resources like this website to see that I am not alone. Thank you to everyone who has given their stories and experiences.

I am very interested in hearing from anyone who has had or is having similar experiences to mine.

I went in for my annual PAP (it's been a couple years ) and test came back where cancer couldn't be ruled out. They biopsied a few sites- maybe 4- and one site came back as HPV and I believe it is described CIN3 - which is the "level" before cancer. So, good news I don't have cancer. But we had to remove it and opted to not do anything as radical as a hysterectomy if a lesser procedure could be done. A LEEP procedure was performed, removing a portion of my cervix and that was sent for biopsy. Inside margins biopsied still contained the cells so doctor wants to perform a hyserectomy. I have a C-Section scar and we are going to attempt to do TLH but he said that if the scar tissue is too bad, I will leave the OR with Abdominal Hyst.

If anyone has an experience like mine, I would love to hear from you. Thank you.

Hi Pooper (now that didn't sound right!)

I can't answer your questions. I'm sure someone will. I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to the group.

Best of luck!

PartyPooper!

I've had the cyro procedure done once and the LEEP procedure done twice due to abnormal Paps. I'm horrible about going to the doc on a regular basis.

I finally got a doc to listen to me and take my cramps seriously. I have my surgery scheduled the day after yours. I'm looking forward to being pain free. My doc thinks she can get the uterus, fibroids and cervix LAVH but I think she's going to have to do a TAH on me once she gets in there. My cervix is so scarred from the LEEP procedures she can barely do a Pap test. (I think she's forgotten this part when she said she'd do a LAVH). I had to have an endometrial biopsy due to another abnormal Pap and it hurt like the dickens and took her longer than normal due to the excessive scarring.

I am expecting a TAH but if I leave the OR with a LAVH then I'm ahead of the game!

I had my first abnormal pap in January 2004 (low-grade squamous interepithelial lesions, CIN 2-3), followed by the colpo/biopsy. I was scheduled for a LEEP, but then found out I was pregnant. Paps during and after pregnancy came back OK. Pap came back abnormal (ASCUS) in May 2006; HGSIL in October 2006. I had a LEEP in January 2007 and was back to high-grade by March 2007. HPV test came back negative, so it's all me doing this. My doctor recommended the hysterectomy, but did say she could refer me to a GYN-oncologist if I wanted to see if someone else would recommend something a little less permanent. For me, I was on the fence about having a 3rd child, and knowing that I was looking at having to wait a year to get pregnant after any procedure, I figured that's 12 more months for my body to turn on me again. I did not want to have procedure after procedure after procedure, not have a kid and end up with the hysterectomy anyway. I wanted my sanity. My doctor used my same scar from 2 c-sections for my TAH. She never considered a vaginal or lap-assisted procedure because I had quite a bit of scarring that made it very difficult for her to even do my paps - she also put me under (outpatient procedure at the hospital) for my LEEP because my cervix was so hard to get to. I still have to go back so she can pap whatever's left down there, but so far, so good. Hope that helps. Take care.
