6 months ago today I had my surgery
Hi my name is Kim and I wanted to come on here and post a success story. I had endomitriosis and adeno, had very painful heavy periods, infertility issues, miscarriages, ovarian cysts, pain with intercourse, bowelmovements, ovulation... you name it. I have had lap surgery twice to remove endo and horrible adhesions and scar tissue. When I turned 44 last July I started looking birth control to control my periods, bleeding and my pain. The birth control make things even worse. I was sent to a specialist and found out I had adeno as well.
After trying birth control for several months we decided to go ahead with the surgery... I was ready, very scared but ready. On Dec 13th I had my hysterectomy, they took everything but my right ovary. I had some relief but not even 2 weeks after my surgery I started again with the ovulation pain and cysts and again we tried birth control but it didn't help. I took a leap of faith and made the decision to have that ovary removed on march 29th... again I was very frightened but I feel like that ovary was holding me back from truly feeling better.
I literally danced a jig that night when the ovary was removed... the pain inside was gone. I started on the femring, the first week was hard but now I absolutely love it. This was one of the best decisions I have ever made, my quality of life is so much better. I no longer have the intense pain that I thought was normal. I am enjoying sex again doing things that were too painful to do before. I absolutely love not having my periods anymore... AMAZING. The recovery process was hard at times but totally worth it! I will never look back and question my decision, I feel SO much better then I use to. When I first came to this site I look for success stories... I found a few but also a lot of unsuccessful stories it seemed. I am a success story and I just wanted to put that out there. Good luck to all of. you.... Kim
