Bright red blood 12 weeks post hysterectomy - help

Hi, I am 12 weeks post TAH and BSO. Tonight I went to the toilet and the bowl is filled with bright red urine! Feeling worried - any ideas? Obviously I will make an appt on Monday but in the meantime......

Re: Bright red blood - help

The unwritten rule is if you fill a pad an hour you should go to the ER. In the meantime, put your feet up and call your doctor. Most doctors have an answering service that can reach them anytime, even on weekends. If you are bleeding heavily you shouldn't wait until Monday. If you begin to feel lightheaded/dizzy, make sure you get to the ER right away. Do you have someone with you?

Re: Bright red blood 12 weeks post hysterectomy - help

Did you perhaps lift something heavy, or strain yourself in some way? At 12 weeks there is still internal healing going on, although your restrictions will have been lifted.

Re: Bright red blood 12 weeks post hysterectomy - help

Sorry if this seems like a daft question but are you sure of where the blood has come from? I only ask because I had the same issue yesterday but with some careful placing of toilet paper etc I was able to confirm it was actually the BM and a bad bleed from the piles.

Re: Bright red blood 12 weeks post hysterectomy - help

IT was definitely from urine - not from BM - hadn't had BM. I've had nothing since and no blood at all on wiping
