freak out

I normally am not a needy person. In the hospital after my surgeries I turned into a basket case. My husband left the hospital for a couple hours. My mom was with me but I freaked out. I was in tears for over an hour before he came back. Last night he put me to bed and went out with a friendm same thing happend. I turned into a lunatic texting him every 5 minutes until he got home. He finally got home and I just cried.

Im only 28 and have been through alot the past 3 weeks. 3 surgeries TAH (left one ovary) then was opened back up twice in 12 hours to remove ovary and then 2 liters of blood. I know my body is going through changes, but this needy, clingy, freak out person..... I didn't know I would be like this.

Re: freak out

Did they put you on any hormones since you lost both ovaries? It sounds like you are in need of HRT ?

Re: freak out

You are still early post op. It's not unusual to have ups and downs and be emotional during the early months post op. Your hormones are likely fluctuating as your body recovers from surgery and uses up its stored reserves of hormones.

I do know how you feel. I would be laughing one minute, than would dissolve into a heap of tears. Really freaked me out. Freaked my dh out a bit at first also. I learned to go with the flow and asked everyone around to me cut me some slack, ie: don't push my buttons and apologized in advance for any outbursts I may have. I lived through it and today we can actually laugh at some of my more hormonal moments. Dh teases me about the time I cried watching the Father's day episode of The Brady Bunch. I wasn't just crying, I was sobbing!

in there. It can get better.

Re: freak out

Sending hugs and love your way....
Our bodies have been through a lot of trauma and I've always maintained that it will take nothing but time and patience to heal both physically and mentally from surgery. Please know that you are not alone in this....

Take care
