1 1/2 weeks from finding out I had fibroids, to getting a vag hyst

Went very fast, but I'm glad I got it done! Had my period from 01 June to 06 July - went to see my PA - she ordered an ultrasound, they called later and told me I had multiple uterine fibroids. We left for vaca, gone a week, came home, had an appt with obgyn Wednesday, 26 July, scheduled my vaginal hyster on 30 July - sooooooo. I"m home, resting, walking, resting (today is the day I try to poop!) Any and all advice is welcome!

I thought mine was fast! TAH within 3 weeks of Dr. confirming something was wrong. I had had a feeling for about 6 months but didn't go in to be checked then the appt for pap changed twice due to bleeding. I'm glad I didn't have the long wait like most ladies have had.

You take it easy now and pamper the princess!

I think I would have rather not had time to think about it, and done it quickly like you! I had to do Lupron for almost 6 months to shrink my fibroid and uterus before my lap. By the time my surgery came around I was SO ready to have it be over with!

My advice... take it easy, rest, drink lots of water, walk as much as you can, and let yourself be pampered!!
Check in often on the boards... so very helpful these ladies are!

Oh, and by the way...happy pooping!!!

I would totally have loved to have NOT had so long to wait and worry about it. The waiting was the HARDEST part for me. Ah... the first poop. That wasn't so bad. A week later was far harder (literally) because of all the constipating pain meds. I've taken a stool softener daily and eaten a bran muffin each morning but totally slacked off on the water and that did me in. LOTS of water is essential!!!! Good luck to you!

Drink water, rest, listen to your body, everyone is a bit different in their recovery. Don't compare yourself to others on this. I agree, it's nice not to have to wait too long. I got my surgery date 3 weeks following being examined, and I was so glad I didn't have more time to worry about it!
