Bio-identical HRT Ovaries/Uterus gone

I went to the md for my 5 wk check-up today. It went fine. My question to him today was do I still need to take estrogen-plus-progestin and he said yes because I still have my cervix. Anyone else out there get the same response. I trust my md but I haven't seen any threads regarding this subject. He claims I will be weaned off the progestin in a few months. I was on the HRT before my sx 5/27 and started again 6/5 per md. It's nice not to have any hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness or trouble sleeping.

I am on the same hormones,my dr did not say anything about weaning off progestin. Why wean off? Progestin works with the estrogen to keep in balance. If you do not have ovaries I would not stop hrt,do not know what cervix has to do with it. I only have trouble sleeping, would hate to have any other hormone symptoms.

The progestin works like a sleeping pill for me. I went 11 years with no sleep until he put me on HRT and now..sleep like a baby.
