Question: Adhesions

Could someone explain what this is? I've seen it mentioned numerous times, but no clue. Don't have them, but just the same want to know what the term refers to.

I have always thought that it is like scar tissue.

Yes, scar tissue that adheres to other things. It's OK as long as it doesn't act like glue that sticks a couple of organs together, for example. It can form in a place that causes pain. We all have some and there's nothing we can do that will make it form in the 'right' places or the 'wrong' places. Most of us do not have problems with adhesions.
