Impatient and going bonkers!

I am so glad to hear everyone expressing the same feelings that I have! Talk about an emotional roller-coaster! Looking forward to the surgery one minute, crying the next. Afraid I am driving my husband crazy with the topic. Not sure what and how much to tell my kids...... Sometimes, I find, too, if I spend too much time here I can get overwhelmed, so I try to limit it, but it seems this surgery is overshadowing everything else right now. 19 more days to go, and I have a period in-between. Wonder how I am going to celebrate that last period?
Thanks to the person who suggested trying to get away and do something fun. Maybe I can do that.
Best wishes to everyone!

Impatient and going bonkers!

Hi... I have been worrying about the same things as you also. Mainly finances.... I am hoping I will qualify for sick benefits... but don't know yet. I did get all the forms filled out from my Doctor. My husband doesn't have any sick days or anything either.. and I have a 9 year old... who I have to worry about being looked after.. ready for school, homework etc. The daily typical things.

Yes I agree maybe we should plan something fun to do.. just not sure what at this point...I have been too uncomfortable to even leave the house or go for in the car because of the pain I am in, and finances just don't allow it right now. I am lucky that my DH is very suportive and has been doing all the work around here, plus his full time job.

Some times I don't even know why I am on this roller coaster.. which I guess is what is really bothering me. I have awesome support and I still feel very alone and scared. That is why I was wondering if hormones could be causing me to feel this way along with jittered nerves. I am normally a very happy bubbly social person... and it is strange when I want to be alone so much. I am usually the one who is upbeat and though I tend to worry a lot, can usually get a handle on what is important and work with it. Thanx again for letting me know I am not from outter space!

me too!

I know exactly how you feel. My surgery is December 13th, and I am so nervous and feel so dumb. I am struggling with alot of pain right now, and have no idea how bad the pain will be afterwards. I am only 39 myself, and worry about the emotional effects of the surgery. Hang in there, you are not crazy I know exactly how you feel.
Lots of love and prayers!!!!

Impatient and going bonkers!

I have had the same feelings as well. I am now one week away and getting more stressed. I know what Im doing is right for me and my body and family but for knowing I will not be able to work or clean or anything for a few weeks is making me batty. I had to postpone getting a tattoo because the tattoo artist said he wouldnt so close to surgery and even wants me to get clearance from my doctor afterwards. I know it may sound silly but it was like a preop thing I wanted to do just for me. Oh well guess Ill have to wait til afterwards to get lucky # 13 on me. I was even thinking about an eyebrow piercing and maybe some pruple hair while Im off work. GOod luck to you and I hope things go well for you

Impatient and going bonkers!

I'm going to be out for three months (this surgery and another afterward), have to train a temp to take over as much as she can, finishing the school semester, and trying to do everything else. I'm worn out! I had yesterday off work and all I did was sleep. I really needed that. I'm sure part of it is depression I'm not consciously aware of. I think I'm doing okay with it, the I find myself crying and not know when I started. The waiting is what's killing me.

Yes, it's the waiting that's the worst! Most definitely!

Impatient and going bonkers!

Well everyone....I took Monet's advice and headed out for some fun...Christmas shopping. Surgery in 6 days now and not sure how up to shopping and wrapping I will be. Only out for 2 hours and I was literally shaking, had terrible back pain, and cramps. It was nice to go somewhere other than Dr appts! Felt good to be out and yes it did take my mind off things a bit. Definitely took some of the after surgery pressure off. But I had to get my butt home and back to bed! This is so frustrating to be so disabled, but I can only hope and pray these surgeries help us all. I am singing the blues!!!!

Impatient and going bonkers!

I am one month away from surgery and just made my appt yesterday. It was almost a relief to have a date, but yet so scary. This site has been my salvation!
I have four dogs too! and they are getting bored and antsy because they aren't getting their usual walks ( I had a Laparoscopy last Fri and am still healing from that). My DH is wonderful and does his best to take care of things, but it can be a bit rough. I am sure he is sick of hearing about my surgery too, but he is patient man! This whole thing has turned our lives upside down! I know you can all relate. I too think about the surgery so often. . .it really is good to try and get out and do something fun to get your mind off of this!

To candypops

I love other cultures, accents, etc. I love things that are different from what I'm use to. As for the nurse, don't take any garbage from her. Ask for her supervisor. You deserve better, but it's up to you to get it.
