Scar

What is everyone using to get rid of their scar? I have been rubbing vitamin E on it and it's still purple in color. Any ideas?

Re: Scar

Hello!

My scar was still purple at a year plus post-op. It was only towards the 2 year mark that I noticed it had all but disappeared. It was a nice surprise since I'd just about given up hope and had stopped checking long before ... I'm 5 years post-op now and realised, only the other day, that I couldn't find any evidence of it.

You're still very early post-op and patience is the key with just about everything with this surgery.

Sending all good wishes and positive thoughts!

Re: Scar

I'm using Lil Goats Milk Baby Butter...I'm three months out and very happy with my bikini cut incision/scar.

Just like everything in this process...time is what we need...even when we are impatient.

All the best.

Re: Scar

I'm using dermatix C, a silicone gel for scars. Not sure if it requires a prescription but I bought it directly from a dermatologist. (had a mole removed last year). You can use it as soon as the incision site is closed. I was also told to massage it lightly to "soften" the dermal layer from scar tissues for months. Luckily I don't get keloids but a friend of mine was told to massage for up to 6 months. Just remember that it's a light massage so you can't harm your inner healing.

Re: Scar

i'm six weeks post op and was recommended by my oby to apply and lightly massage Contractubex Gel as soon as the incision site is closed to prevent scarring and possible formation of keloids.

take care!
