Lower back pain

I thought extra support like the panties would help, but it makes it worse for me. ;(

Lower back pain

Those heat wraps really helped me a lot too. I wore them almost continually for 2 days, and my back felt so much better after that. Plus I noticed that when I walked around, I tended not to hold in my abdominal muscles at all. Since I've been trying to hold them in more and walk straighter rather than bending over so much, my back has felt better also.

Lower back pain

Ok Nancs, I will try holding in my stomach too.
Thank you. I just had to take a Vicodan, Can't stand it. I have the heating pad on constantly and it doesn't help that much. I need to get my leave extended but I don't think he will do that.

Lower back pain

I am having back pain as well...mine tends to be on my left side or directly in the middle of my lower back, especially after I sit or stand for a while. Where exactly does your back hurt?

Lower back pain

Hi Herewegoagain2
Cute name

I have 4 incisions, it is constant in the belly, 6-8 if you rank the pain, and lower R & L quadrant pain. In my back it is on either side of my spine. I took a Vicodan and of course that works but is not a long term treatment. I will try walking more tomorrow. I have had such dizziness and nausea if I move to fast or if I am in a car. I will try the holding in the belly too. Support panties seem to make it worse for me. I know it takes time, but I need to feel well enough to go back to work. I don't think he will extend my leave.

Lower back pain

The pain that I am having is on the left of my back, pretty close to my spine and right under the tail bone. Right where you just can't possibly massage it. If I freeze the Swelly Belly Band and turn it around, the ice seems to help a little. It takes the edge off. With that said, as soon as I take off the band, the pain comes back.

My doc refuses to give me anything for pain, so I guess I'll have to ride this out! Fun, fun, fun!

Lower back pain

Clmeador,
I had Vicodan left over otherwise I am sure he wouldn't give me more. I had that pain in my tailbone too for years, and thought it was my arthritis. It was so severe that I could not get dressed. Exercise and PT never helped. After my hyst, it was immediately gone and still is. That pain I had for 12 years was from the fibroids. They could never palpate them on exam, they were found with the pelvic ultrasound last Nov.
Good luck with the pain. I am going to walk tomorrow, early though it will be hot and humid as heck here for the next week.

Lower back pain

Well, I've been feeling sorry for myself, but it sounds like you've got it a lot worst. Try some of those heat wraps that you can wear under your clothes, too. I sure hope it improves soon for you.
When I was having some intestinal issues, I went to see my GP and he gave me a prescription for more pain meds. I'm not taking them very often (using alieve or ibuprofen), but it's nice to know I've got them.

I would talk to your doctor again and see if he will at least let you go back part time for another couple of weeks. Mine did for me - I go back part time at 6 weeks, then full time at 8 1/2 weeks.

Lower back pain

I just started getting lower back pain yesterday and I have it as I type. I wonder if it's hormonal for me b/c it's been almost 3weeks and it just now started.I also noticed my boobs seemed bigger this morn.hence my reasoning for thinking it's hormonal. Oh well....this too shall pass. Only a small kink for something so woth it..i can deal..
