Mini-Periods

I think I fall in the small percentage of women who have them. While its a big bummer for me, it sure beats what my "normal" period was like.

I am now 7 weeks post op and I think I just finished a mini-period. It lasted 5 days, but didn't need a pad or anything, just a wipe and go. With the heaviest being this morning of a dark brownish color which I am also wondering if the dark brownish color is still part of the healing process of surgery??

If not and this is my true mini-period, is there a chance it could lessen over time?

Re: Mini-Periods

Sunny Daze

It's difficult to say right now since you're still relatively early post-op and any bleeding could still be part of the healing process.

To answer your question, however, I have cyclical bleeding (having kept my ovaries and cervix) and was told it would lessen over time, which it has! I'm over 5 years post-op and don't even need a liner anymore whereas, in the beginning, I did.

The only thing to do for now is see what happens again next month. I'll keep everything crossed for you!

Re: Mini-Periods

Sunny Daze I am 1year and 10 months out. I just found out today that I had a mini period. It was actually weird. I did have a slight pink tinge on the tissue on a Monday but I thought I just scratched myself. Well on a Wednesday I sneezed hard, something hurt, and my vajayjay was wet. I grabbed down there and ended up with blood on my hand. It scared me because I thought that if I were going to have a mini period it would have happened by now. My doctor said that it was a mini period when I saw him and that it usually happens before the two year mark. I was hoping that it wouldn't happen to me because so much time had passed. Even with how little it is compared to my normal periods it just kinda sucked. Good luck to you.
