Adhesions after Myomectomy

I was calling them lesions and they are actually adhesions.

Anyway....had a myo a year ago (actually 2) and while inserting adiana a couple of months ago the doc noticed the adhesion. When I went in 3 months later for the HSG (?) test the doc discovered the adhesion was much worse.

Having laproscopic surgery March 9 to remove it. He seemed to have a sense of urgency which I don't really understand.

Ughhh... I am really needing some support...seems like the surgery is just going to make things worse.

I do find some comfort in knowing the discomfort is not all in my head...but sick of being poked and prodded.

Anyone have adhesions removed? If so, what kind of recovery should I expect? Did it work for you?
Any and all comments appreciated....

Kris

Re: Adhesions after Myomectomy

Hi kris.
Adhesions can be dangerous depending on where they are. I am one of those people that grow them after each surgery. I have had 4 abdominal surgeries-2 of them included a bowel resection because adhesions were cutting off blood/oxygen to the small intestine. During my TAH the Dr.removed a mass of adhesions that joined my intestines to the abdominal wall behind my belly button. There were 10 years between surgeries to remove the adhesions. Did it work this time? Time will tell, but when I woke up from surgery I immediatey knew the mass was gone. Feels good to breathe deeply.
What is a HSG test? My only diagnostic tool has been unbearable pain.
I wish I knew if I was going to be ok. weeks out from surgery and I am just glad to have it done. I would call and ask your Dr. about these concerns if you can.

This time tube in my nose and on dec 26 i had my surgery. They opened me in the same spot where they went in to do my TAH. I tell you it hurt more then the TAH.

Re: Adhesions after Myomectomy

The hsg test was to see if the adiana worked. It is like an x ray. That is when he noticed the adhesion was quite a bit larger and I think he may have said it was connected to the other side...

This is what is causing pain and light periods which is interesting cuz I thought the light periods were from not having the fibroid and thought the discomfort was from adiana. Ugh.

My doc is concerened during my period the blood is going to pool and not pass because of the adhesion. He said this will increase pain and cause other issues.

Thanks for the replies...somehow not feeling alone makes it better.
