forgot to ask my dr

my pre-op is on mar 3rd and hyste on the 10th. if I should start my period around surgery date will they have to postpone the surgery does anyone know/

No they do it anyway. It seems to be a pretty common thing.

I would suggest checking with your doctor to be sure, but in general surgery is not canceled because one starts her period. However, we have had some ladies post that when possible their doctor did try to schedule surgery when they would not be on their period for a few different reasons including anemia issues.

More than likely you will be fine! Many of us head into OR because we can't get the bleeding to stop any other way! In fact, I headed into OR bleeding twice--the first time for my diagnostic lap, the second for my hysterectomy!

You should be fine, they had me continue with my laparoscopy even when I was bleeding...they did give me some very nice panties to wear *with every sarcastic bone in my body* other than that you should be good to go

I went into surgery bleeding.. that was the reason for it, I never stop! LOL, you'll be fine, it is nothing new to them.

My start and end of my last period was the day of my surgery! They give you funky panties to wear with a massive pad for while you go into surgery, and then you wake up commando.
