Anyone tried implants?

Hi there, I've been taking elleste solo HRT 1mg pill since TAH and BSO on 17th Jan.
It seems ok at the moment, but I am bad at remembering to take a pill every day, just wondering if any of you ladies have tried implants.
I like the sound of not taking a pill every day, it seems a more natural way and avoids deposits from pills in the liver etc.
Don't fancy the patches either.
Look forward to hearing from anyone who has tried implants.

Anyone tried implants?

Hi

I am on implants which were inserted when I had TAH/BSO in Nov 2004. I am very happy with them as I hate taking pills and patches always seem to fall off. Also I don t like to think I am on HRT and this way I have them every 6 months and forget about them until the next time. So much easier and I believe may be safer as they avoid passing through the liver.

Anyone tried implants?

Thanks for the reply Happy Zone.
I asked my GP about implants and he was quite negative about them, but says he will put one in for me if I really want.
He hasn't had much experience of doing this and wondered where you had yours done.
I don't have any more appointments with my surgeon now, but am not sure whether they do them in the gyni dept. at the hospital.

implant

Hi Conyers

Mine are done in gynae out patients at the hospital. Don t think many GPs deal with them. Don t know where you are but I am in London UK. My GP was quite negative about them too, but I will continue with them while they still suit me. It s only been just over 4 months so is early days, but can t stand the thought of taking pills for years to come.

Hope you get on well

Anyone tried implants?

Hi Happyzone
I live in the UK too, Cumbria up in the NW.
Glad to hear the implants are working well for you.
Think I will get in touch with the hospital and ask them the normal procedure.
My GP had to look up in books for dosage etc, I am a bit uncertain about him doing it and even if he knows where to put it!!
I think I would prefer someone with more experience to do it, but I'm like you, I want to forget about HRT and don't like pills either and I've heard the patches fall off.
A friend had them and they used to come off in the night and end up stuck somewhere on her husband!
