What is too much?

I still have bladder pain after 6 weeks. I found out today that I have blood in my urine... not a lot but enough to be seen in the microsope. My dr. told me that I may be doing too much... what is too much? He reminded me not to lift anything heavy...sigh. He also said that I could have a low grade infection. I am now on antibiotics... and am restricting my activity again. I'm just not good at knowing what is too much. What is too much? I am returning to work next week for half days and then full time the week after. THAT feels like too much ... it's ALOT more walking, lifting, sitting and stress than I have now. If my activity level to this point has caused problems... then I am concerned that I will get worse. Any advice? I am in tears more now that I have been since agreeing to having this surgery in the first place.

What is too much?

Wish I could help you. I did get a note from my doctor that said I could go back to work BUT I could not lift anything over 5 pounds. (I was always the little "pack mule" for the company.) Maybe you could get a note from the doctor detailing what you can and can't do. That will make returning to work easier.

Treat yourself "gently" my dear. That's all I can recommend. If you think you are pushing yourself, you probably are (we all do) - so STOP IT! Let the dust bunnies visit as they will! Eventually you will heal.

Saying a little prayer for you.

What is too much?

That's a good idea..a return to work with restrictions should help when you return to work. Most of the time, we don't know that we have overdone it until it is too late...happened to me quite a few times, as recent as just last month!

Take it one day at at time, do things at your own pace, and remember that this is a looong journey! Take care!
