Any advise

My problem is I havent had the desire for sex the last couple years before my hysterectomy and I just turned 50, dont know if it was because I was going thru menopause or what, Im still in a long term relationship, and its been really difficult to enjoy life at my still young age.I dont know if the hysto will help...maybe its just over for me......I worry over it.....any advise...

Well, I don't know about anybody else, but I am ready to jump DH bones...I thought that, and I'm sure DH did, I'd never have a sex drive again b/c of all the problems that I had, BUT as soon as that dr. okays me, it's on like donkey kong, girlie! So, hang in there, b/c your hyster was only 1 day apart from mine, so maybe somethin' will kick in soon! Good luck Lilly!

Have you ever talked to your doctor about the lack of sex drive that you were experiencing before your surgery? It's possible that it's related to menopause but there can be other causes. Are you taking any medications that have negative sexual side effects, for example?

I hope you will discuss this concern with your doctor. If your lack of desire is related to your hormones, it's possible to get the desire back through careful balancing of hormone therapy. I checked your profile and noticed that you had your ovaries removed and are willing to use hormones if you determine they are safe for you.
