Post-op pelvic exam question

Dear sisters,

I've made it to the year mark and am scheduled to return to my gyn next week for check up and my first post-hyst internal exam.
I went back at six months but she didn't do a full exam because I had some other complications at the time. ( and my regular dr did not do my surgery)

My question is--what do they feel for internally when we don't have any organs left? Won't there just be lots of scar tissue?
I understand I need a PAP smear as I still have a cervix. I guess my dr is old school because she says I have to come back every year until I'm 65 ( and that's a ways off)

I know this sounds dumb but I'm just wondering.

And to those sisters still recovering--it will all be worth it. You'll see.

I am only 12 weeks...but my Dr said he would see me at 6 months to check everything out.

Then once a year to check for 'growths', dryness, or atrophy of the vigina, scar tissue,any prolapse in the vagina walls/floor.

The every year pap is because you still can get cancer of the cervix...so go!
