Train Travel Highly Recommended!
The third week energy surge hit me at a good time...I loafed around all day Saturday knowing I really wanted to get out of the house Sunday.
I took my dd on the Amtrak south to the Chicago Suburbs to celebrate my uncle's 67th birthday. We are the only family not in AZ so it was an important visit.
He is the primary caregiver for his domestic partner-my grandmother of 92 and really looks forward to my relief visits... I do all of her major personal care...haircuts, nails and showers. She very good with daily hygiene just needs the weekly going over...which she has gone without for three weeks now. I told them I was not coming to do much of anything except celebrate with a good carryout meal! Which was more than they expected so soon in recovery.
I had a ride to and from each of the small track side stations. The seats are wide and recline without seat belts. The train swayed a bit at high speeds but with only one stop in-between and no real bumps, it was the perfect mode of travel!
But the best thing was that when I arrived home our house was clean as a whistle! My sweetie had a talked a friend into coming over to help with house work and every surface was vacuumed, all the laundry folded and the majority put away, all garbage out of sight and even the fridge looked like it had a going over. I'm thinking of taking the train down every Sunday now!
