Picking my mom up at the airport

I'm leaving in a few minutes to run some errands before I pick my mom up at the airport. She's staying with me for two weeks to take care of me after surgery. And for some reason, her arrival makes it feel REAL and imminent in a way that it didn't even last night.

Now the countdown commences... Four days from now I'll be in surgery. I feel sick to my stomach from nerves.

Best of luck to you! My mom is flying in to stay with me for 2 weeks after surgery too! Thank goodness for moms!

Fench42, I had mine on 7/19, it wasn't long ago I was in your shoes. The way I dealt with it was to simply put one foot infront of the other. I had already saturated my mind with info from this site. I had almost all the readiness things done. So all I had to do was put one foot infront of the other and get thru the days. It was almost a numb feeling. I wish you a calm surgery and a peaceful recovery :: And if you need ANYTHING we are all here to hold your hand and give you support

Aw good luck to you! I remember feeling that way only a few weeks ago. You will be fine, better than every. Just remember to be patient with your recovery. Each week gets better and better!

My is is also on the 10th and have been so busy with craziness, and realize today, Wow it is coming! Just got to clean for 6 weeks!

I was also very nervous like you, the night before the surgery i probably slept 1 hours. had a full hysto on 6/15 both ovaries removed and i'm feeling great. the pain was not too bad. the biggest challenge has been not being able to lift and i get tired easily. so i'm still taking it easy. keep a positive attitude that helps a lot! take care and good luck!

Thanks, djvas! I've been sleeping fine up til now, but last night I had a hard time falling asleep and then woke up about six times during the night. Sigh. Very tired today but have been running around like a headless chicken all day trying to get things done before surgery. Maybe I'll wear myself out enough that I can sleep tonight.
