Optimistic
Hi there, princesses!
6 days ago I had my TAH (Don't even know what that means, but what the heck. Ok, I do know what that means, but that's not used in my native tongue). I'm optimistic. I want to be optimistic, because I'm sure that makes my recovery easier.
At this point I don't feel there are too many questions floating around in my head, so I just write here to introduce my self to you all.
I'm from Norway. In our country we have free hospitals. I've just returned home from the hospital today. 6 days with good care from nurses and doctors, and I felt very well taken care of. Lots of rest, good pain treatment, and surrounded of sweet medical staff. I feel so lucky.
Sure; I'm sore, my tummy hurts, my back feels like someone kicked it, and I'm walking like an 104 year old. When I try to make my way out of bed, it's like the circus has entered the town, and I fall a sleep in a second at times. That's not my choice, but beeing optimistic is.
I wish my english were a bit better, but I hope you understand it anyway.
There's nothing like this site in my country, HysterSister is truly exellent!
The very best wishes for a safe recovery for everyone - from me to you all and a bit of optimism, as well.

Dear JJ,
Your English (LOL just realized I'd misspelled English --left out the "g" -- boy that would leave a good impression, NOT.) is FAR better than my Noregian (non- existant) so don't worry. The thing my husband was very impressed with is how international this site is and how big. He was bragging about one of the Animae sites he visits, and was really put in his place when I told him how big Hystersisters is.
That is one of the great benefits to the whole internet world. It opens up a lot of bad but also provides a heck of a lot of good.
I'm glad to hear everything went so well and you're doing well at home. Make sure you continue to take it easy. That's very important. Read the check-points sections for your recovery period. I found them very helpful. Also my surgery date block Recovery Thread and the week ahead of me as well were incredibly helpful.
Now: and good healing! LJC

Thanks Aggs! The part of taking it easy might very well be the hardest part of it all. Now there's a challenge. My husband is the cutest nurse ever, so I'd better be a good patient. *lol*
I have read the check-points sections, and will try to follow them as well as possible. And I should absolutely go back to bed.
It's 9:07 pm here now, a bit too early for putting the pyjamas on, but I can rest in our bed and watch LOST, having a nice cup of tea and just relax.
Have a good one, Aggs! :roll2:

Hi there! I'm glad to hear that things are going well for you. I think being optimistic does help with recovery. It's helped me tremendously; I had a surprise TAH/BSO (terms that weren't in my vocabulary until 3 weeks ago either!). It's been tough, but I can definitely see the good spots, so I'm happy.
I'm glad you had such good medical care; I was fortunate to have a great staff of nurses and an excellent doctor taking care of me, that helps too.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery!!

Optimistic
Hi: I'm now three months from my TAH/BSO. Like you, my abdomen really hurt, I had back pain, walked hunched over and shuffling my feet, and felt awful. The thing that really helped was that I did not overdo it after surgery and this has helped me heal and recover from complications. I'm just now trying to start working again. I now see that I will eventually feel much better now that the poison and pain causing problems in my pelvis are gone for eternity. Thank you for reminding me to feel optimistic. The worst part of the whole process has been financial because my doctor would not treat me or run tests to diagnose my problems. I didn't feel good enough to work for the past few years. She and other doctors insisted my pelvic pain and monthly symptons were all in my head. After surgery she saw the pathology report and was shocked. She said that she had "learned a lot on my case". Only problem is now I may lose my home. I'm stressed out. So this is a long message to say thank you for reminding me to choose to feel optimistic and that I will now have my health back in time. I hope you have a speedy recovery. Don't overdo it.

ThePotter: Keep up the good spirit, things can only get even better from now on.
beller5: I hope everything works out fine for you. I can imagine you're stressed out. Hopefully you will be able to keep your home and your life together from now on. You're obviously stronger than you know, coming all this way and still hanging in there. Be proud of your self, princess.

Optimistic
Today I had to call my doctor to get some prescription painkillers. I'd really thought I could manage without any of the sort, but I guess that was my optimistic attitude talking.
Also there are some mood swings (depression) detected in my mind today, but they will pass - I'm sure. My DH is bored out of his mind, so he's doing a lot of stuff outside the home, and all I want is to cuddle up and just cry a bit in his arms. But men are men, so I just say nothing, and hopes he will be able to read my mind like a magician.
I'm a bit disappointed over the fact that I can't get my hands on the Swelly Belly Band, as they are not sendt to my area. My belly is swollen like a minor mountain.
Oh, well. Things can only get better!
