19 days post op and heavy bleeding

I am 19 days post op from a TVH with A & P repairs and bladder lift. The catheter was finally removed this past Thursday. I am still having bladder pain which the Dr said to expect since the cath was in for over 2 weeks. But I am bleeding Heavy tonight. We went to a graduation party today (my first venture out for anything other than a prescription or Dr visit) and although I sat all afternoon I have gone through 5 max pads in 4 - hours. My belly is tender also.

When I was at the Dr office a week ago I was commenting on more bleeding and he removed a large clot from the suture are in the vagina and said that they was probably the culprit. I have had bleeding on and off since than but mostly older looking blood. Today is new blood.

Have any of you experienced this at this time frame and can you offer suggestions or ideas? I am in bed with legs elevated and a towel underneath since I know I am going to flood while I sleep.
Thanks for the help.

My doc said if I was going through a pad an hour - especially of fresh blood or with lots of clots - that was BAD!!!!!

I don't want to alarm you, but unless your doctor told you something different I recommend calling your doctor or your local Emergency Room immediately. Better to get a professional opinion on this one.

19 days post op and heavy bleeding

The bleeding slowed down significantly during the night (Saturday) and we had planned on going to church Sunday (first time since surgery) and a church picnic afterwards, but...instead i made the wise decision to stay in bed for the day. I took brief walking trips around the house but stayed laying down for the most part. Today my daughter and I went to the college to get our books for the fall semester, but with all the time spent on my feet when I got home I was blleding heavy again. So...back to bed, and tomorrow I will take it easy also. I don't know why I am bleeding so much when I am up moving around.

My doctor is on vacation this week, but I am going to call the office tomorrow and talk with the doc covering for him to get his/her input. My mom says I am overdoing it and I need to rest more. I guess she is right.

thanks for the prayers and I will keep you posted onwhat the dr says tomorrow.
