Any advice for a new sister-TVH on 5/30/02

I was diagnosed with Carcinoma in situ III, and had a Cone biopsy on 4/24/02. I have opted to have a TVH, my dr said it wasn't necessary but it was an option so I took it. I am hearing alot of post-op stories of woman that have a had TAH, so I guess I'm kind of clueless. Does anybody have any advise on what i should ask my Dr. ....Please help

I had a TAH, but some questions are universal.

Ask:
..... how long you can expect to be in the hospital.
..... how long an initial recovery you can expect before being release for normal activities.
..... what pre-surgery preparations do you have to do.
..... what complications you may expect.
..... what type of pain management the hospital uses.
..... what activities are ok the first few weeks.

Those are all I can think of right now, it's 2:44 am and I've got insomnia tonight. Ick.

Wishing you well.
