TAH/BSO/TT ahead and I'm a little nervous
Hi
I can not give you much advise as had a hysterectomy vaginally was I so lucky. I was out in a restaurant a wk later I was to have adominal and they started that way so finished had a bladder sling is that what BSO means ?
having some trouble now with my bladder and been putting off seeing the dr
One thing I did was make sure they gave me drugs since I get sick from the anethesia and it worked!! however I drank too much water after and came back up on me
I had a wonderful nurse come in after a day or so and said we need to get you moving it really helped but she got me back on my feet and moving
I had very little pain but did too much about 6 wks later bending over and lifting plants at a sale and then had horrid pain.
I do get grabbing pains at times when move low on both sides and figure probably adhesions
one thing they tell you use the morphine even encouraged me I had a raging headache and never got even an aspirin
I did real later they find morphine actually hinders not helps
it did me
I really did not need it but was told to use it before surgery
then I found out the one dr said I do not use this for a vaginal hysterectomy so gave me something in my ID that was really good tasted bad but much better
any way take it easy aftewards

TAH/BSO/TT ahead and I'm a little nervous
You were lucky to have it done vaginally. My mother in law had it that way also several years ago and she made out wonderful. The older I get, the bigger a baby I get about pain. I used to think I was very tolerant to it! I have gathered alot of advise on this site and will use what the occassion calls for. I am rather uncomfortable these last few weeks, feels like my uterus is LARGE. My hormones are out of wack also. My poor girls in the office! I need to get moving and prepare my downstairs bathroom, pack my bag and to the the grocery store. Thanks alot, Jeanne123.

TAH/BSO/TT ahead and I'm a little nervous
Rilessmiles, I am also off to the Castle tomorrow.
I agree, this site has been so much help! I am feeling pretty prepared.I have my bathroom set up as well. I usually keep everything stored under my counters but with no bending I had to think ahead as to what I will need.
I am having vaginal partial with repairs and a bladder sling so I will have to come home with a supra pubic catetor and I will be taking 4 sitz baths a day.
Everyone has different operations, different recoveries and because of past histories, age etc we all recovery differently.
I plan to stay put for 6 weeks. I don't want to mess with any of my repairs and I need to be ready to welcome a new grand baby into the home in April, so I lots of motivation.
God bless you during your surgery. May this day be filled with peace and assurance that you will be watched over and may you have a speedy and uneventful recovery
Same day Princess, Kris

wow a caithiter? I had none of that
the dr said I had the largest uterus ever he took out I was huge a mess inside
my gyn actually did not operate on me she assisted as the gyn-urology dr started the surgery and she told him to finish
she would not let him cut me when he wanted to give up
with getting this out as was so big and difficult
was great!
be sure and ask for the report from the lab that was interesting how many cysts I had and the condition of all inside I had 2 D and C's over the yrs for clots and bleeding
I actually do still have a little scant stuff at times but think due to my thin walls now I also get bacterial infections and prob had a lot of other infections in the past I ignored

TAH/BSO/TT ahead and I'm a little nervous
Good luck tomorrow.
I had my surgery 11 weeks ago and it was not that bad. I have an abdominal vertical incision that went above my belly button and was off all pain medication 24 hours later. I am not sure how much more pain a tt will add to the hysterectomy but they will manage your pain quickly.
Best of luck for an uneventful l surgery and a speedy and healthy recovery!
