I had a laparoscopic Hysterectomy. Would an abdominal binder help?

Re: Abdominal Binder

I had laporscopic and think it does help. My Dr. has all her hysterectomy patients wear them. I had my surgery two weeks ago tomorrow and am starting to try to wean out of it. Not wearing it at night so the air can get to the incisions.

Re: Abdominal Binder

I had an LSH and I loved my abd binder!! I wore it pretty much constantly for the first two weeks post-op. I don't know if it helped with the swelling, but I was able to fit into my jeans again at two weeks. It also served as a constant reminder to use proper body mechanics. I loved it and would strongly recommend it to anyone who has had abdominal surgery!

(Oh, and air still gets to your incisions even with the binder on! FYI!!)

Re: Abdominal Binder

i'm 23 days post-op, and am still wearing mine. it's been a god-send. the only time i don't wear it is in the shower. i plan on keeping it on until my 6 wk check-up. then i'll see about weaning off of it. it really does help when i'm out being active, etc. i also have mild allergies, so it really helps whenever i sneeze.

i highly recommend it!

Re: Abdominal Binder

I had a LSH and I love my binder. I need to wear it when I am out and about. It also helped when I need to put a cold pack or warm pack on my swelly belly. I got the prefect pocket one from this site.
