Is ironing ok?

Any of you ladies done some ironing after TAH/BSO? If somebody else puts up the ironing board, is it ok to iron or is that a no-no?

Is ironing ok?

What's ironing?

Seriously, I had my TAH the same week as you and haven't felt a need to worry about wrinkly clothes yet....not that I worried much before my TAH!

I think if you need something ironed you should ask someone else to do it for you....

I don't think you should iron for some time yet. I have got very good at folding tons of things. I seem to iron much less now- never a bad thing!

Is ironing ok?

I have wondered the same thing, I had a TAH on the 1-31-06. I am feeling great and do have to be careful of what I do because I do feel I can do anything as before the surgery.

I have not vacuumed, swept, or did the laundry. My son has been doing this for me. He brings the laundry upstairs and I sit on the couch to fold it.

I have done very little ironing, pair of slacks so I can go to work for a couple of hours and a shawl to wear with a dress tonight.

Because I am not sure if I am suppose to iron I am doing very little and I leave my iron and ironing board up all the time, so I do not have to keep putting it up and down, which I know is a no no.

ironing

I have ironed and it doesn't seem to bother me. I only iron what I want to wear for the day though. And I am wearing a compression bandage that supports my stomach and back, without it standing there would not be a good thing.

Is ironing ok?

I called my doc after about a little over a week home regarding this and a few other things and I was told it was ok. Just take it slow and easy.

Is ironing ok?

NO--Ironing is N-E-V-E-R OK!! (Just kidding--haha!) Seriously, I have done some ironing, but I have someone else put the board out for me, and after a few items, I have to stop; my DH usually takes over then. You might wanna check with your doctor just to be sure. Take it easy!!!

Is ironing ok?

I ironed straight away but I did it in small lots as I was tiring easily at first. I even sat down and did it.

Is ironing ok?

First, I dislike ironing. My MIL has been down several times and has done my ironing for me. She LOVES to iron!

When I have to iron, like today, I sit down on the couch, find something on tv and iron while enoying a show. That makes it much more bearable.

I had to laugh a couple of weeks ago...my MIL was here and ironing had not been done for well over a month...she stood for 2 hours and ironed. I offered for her to sit on the couch ( I was quite happy in my recliner!) and she never heard of such a thing.
