Gross bowel prep question...

Ok I am doing my bowel prep...and my instructions say and I quote : 2 tablespoons at 4pm, 5pm, continue until stools are clear.

Ok what the heck is clear stool? I am currently at Bile color...I can't imagine stools ever being "clear".

Please help! I don't want to drink anymore if I don't have to.

You'd be surprised, but they actually do go clear! It will get to the point that all you do is sit down and out it comes and you'll think you're actually urinating instead! My prep this time is different, I have to down the whole bottle (only 1.5 oz though) rather than what the directions w/the package says. At least you don't have to drink the whole thing hopefully!

Oh wow, i'm working on bottle number two! I have had 1.5 so far already...

That's funny (not in the laughing way) I bought an extra bottle just in case... I have both of them in the fridge being "chilled" like a good bottle of wine

Did your doc say to follow the directions on the package or give you his/her own directions? I'm glad my doc told me to drink it all at once... get it over with quicker.

Sorry you're having a rough time with it... someone else suggested eating a piece of candy afterwards to get rid of the aftertaste, maybe that will help?

Desiree..you had to BUY yours? My hospital furnished me with my 'complimentary' two bottles in a brown paper bag!!

Ok, it seems it does run clear... wow... but the pain... oh the pain! I must say, this part *****!

My directions were typed on a list of other things I had to do to prepare for surgery... I don't follow the bottle but what Doc said to do... but things are clear, and now the stinging has set in... and I can't stop going... like the energizer bunny. Makes me not want to drink anything else all night long though I can have "clear liquids" until midnight.

And be careful, in case you feel like you are gonna fart...it may be a wet one! It is really embarrassing, and very gross if you do it in bed! LOL!

Yeah, I had to buy mine... because I'm seeing a pelvic reconstructive specialist and not the good ol' Army doc (yeah) they didn't accept his Rx. Grrrr... it's not expensive anyway... I had to by the prep kit... comes w/4 lovely little pills and a supository too Woopie! fun, fun!

I never thought it'd run clear either... I'm just glad I don't have the gallon jug like last time... that was the worst (for me anyhow)!!! Sorry to hear you're in pain, but it will subside, really it will.
