Re: Overwhelmed with LSH info and would love some input about keeping my cervix

I also had cervix removed and no problems. Healed well and yes sex is way better. Just one less cancer to worry about in the future. My doctor also explained that it really doesn't do anything and there is no concrete evidence that without it there are more complications. Healed well by 6 weeks and so glad I had this done!! love the no periods!!

Sounds like you have done alot of research and will all come down to what you think is best for you. I am 6 months out and have not had any bleeding at all. I am glad I kept my cervix but everything else was removed

Re: Overwhelmed with LSH info and would love some input about keeping my cervix

Thank you all for sharing your experiences. At this point, I have made the decision to keep my cervix. My doc was very confident there should be no issues, and claimed that he's only had about 2% of his previous patients complain of any problems or bleeding more than a spot or two very occasionally. He's been at it for nearly 30 years. Granted, I didn't dig into his past too much other than reading his online ratings and getting very high recommendations from other docs in the area, but I feel very comfortable with him. He seems very compassionate, not pushy at all, and has been more than happy answering any questions I have had. Fingers crossed all goes well. I am going in with a positive attitude and can't wait to be on the other side of it all!
