Post Op Almost One Year

Hi, I haven't been on here for some time. My TAH was almost one year ago, Oct. 22, 2007 to be exact. I have been doing well until about three weeks ago and my left sided low back pain has returned. My hysterectomy was due to stage 4 endometriosis which involved both ovaries and my colon.
Since my pain has returned, I am having pain with urination and bowel movements. Has any one else experienced this? Could this signal a return of the endo? By the way, I started estradiol recently, but I think I was having pain before then. I am dealing with taking care of my recently diagnosed (alzheimer's) mother so I am a bit frazzeled. I would appreciate any insight you all might provide. Thanks for listening. Zoevalentine.

Dear Zoevalentine: I sympathize with you. My dad has Alzheimer's and I know how frustrating this can be. One hint, don't argue with an alz patient! I found out the hard way!

Do you have your ovaries? Your endo might have returned. Is your pain all the way down your leg? IF so, your sciatic nerve might be pinched. Also, with the pain during urination and bm, might be a UTI. I am sorry that this is a bunch of what if's. I think a trip to your DR might be necessary.

Take care of yourself. Especially with the extra stress of an alz patient.
