Clitoris Irritated

I am almost 2 weeks post op and after a week or so I started to feel an irritation in my clitoris. It is seemingly exposed and very sensitive (and not in a good way!). When it comes into contact with clothing, showering and wiping it is very irritated and painful. Does anyone have a similar problem or know what may cause this symptom. I am taking cipro for a suspected UTI and have already done one round of diflucan for a suspected yeast infection. Neither seem to be the culprit.

Thanks for your time and consideration.

Hi Mek

I am three months post op and I had the same problem. I am taking estrace vaginal cream which has helped with that issue.

Re: Clitoris Irritated

Thanks! I am curious because I did not have the ovaries removed, so not sure if that should make a difference. Only 11 days, but hoping this goes away.

Re: Clitoris Irritated

Hmm...not sure about that since I had my ovaries removed but ftom what I've heard on here your ovaries may not have "woken" up yet..sometimes they go into shock and maybe you're low on estrogen....It could also be from the surgery itself and the area getting irritated. You're still new into recovery so give it some time and let your doctor know.

Re: Clitoris Irritated

That was my thought too, maybe my ovaries are still "waking up." Maybe I can set an alarm for them. :-) THANKS!

Re: Clitoris Irritated

I had that issue a time or two over the years, but I was simply "*****"- sorry but its true.
I thought I may have irritated it with soap residue or too tight pants, but everytime it disappeared after sex.
