3AM 5 weeks later and I CAN NOT SLEEP!

Mary,
Do you have 10 or 5 mg tablets? I have cut them into two many times. I took one last night after sleeping restlessly for an hour - I try to only take them about once a week so it's not habit forming - it would be soooo easy to take those nightly, like a vitamin )

the bottle says Ambien CR 12.5, so I guess I could cut them effectively. This medicine is also available in a 6.25 mg dose.

I'm still feeling pretty groggy - and it has been 13 hours since I took the pill and 4.5 hours since I woke up! Not liking this at all.

I haven't tried the CR version - my doc didn't think it'd help me any more than the Ambien regular (I sleep only about 6 hours on Ambien) - he gave me an Rx for 10 mg. instead of the 5 mg. I'd been taking. That's too bad you had grogginess - I've never gotten it - I drink coffee which perks me up in the a.m. anyway...

3AM 5 weeks later and I CAN NOT SLEEP!

Marianne -

I don't know anything about Ambien, CR or otherwise. I have never been a great sleeper but I never really considered any type of sleep aid. I'm lucky if I can sleep for two hours at a stretch, but I can usually fall back to sleep, and get about six hours sleep total. Not great, but I can manage on it.

I felt really crappy today, groggy until early this afternoon! I'm home with my DD, who picked up the flue somewhere, so a little groggy is ok for me today.

I'm thinking that once I can get back to exercising really hard, instead of just walking around the neighborhood and the usual work and house/family/pets stuff, I'll wear myself out and sleep better.

So, here's to a relaxing evening, and a great night's sleep!!
