Why is hysterectomy considered a major operation?

Women are so strong......as Beyonce says.....we run the world......people don't realize how major it is because women have the surgery and a few weeks later we get back to business (careers, family, nurturing, problem solving, etc.) We handle sooo much so flawlessly which makes it appear to be easy. If men had hysterectomies they would need at least 3 or 4 months off from work (smile).....my husband's friend came to visit me 2 weeks after surgery and he said men could not handle half of the things women go through. I thought was kind of cool to hear that coming from a man.....his wife also had a hysterectomy previously......he seemed to be very informed and acknowledged the surgery as being major.
