CAT scan results

I get my results tomorrow. I am so afraid of what the Dr. might find. I have so many scenerios running through my mind. I can hardly think of anything else. I can't relax. I am on pins and needles. I just want to cry. I'm so afraid of what he will say. I dont' have anybody to talk to about this tonight.

Hi, JGOLDE1,

Waiting for results can be so nerve-wracking! I'm sorry that you're feeling so anxious right now, and I can understand why. The good news is that you're not alone. We're here for you, and I'm sending you many cyberhugs.

I hope that your CAT scan results will give you the answers you need. Please let us know how you're doing. You have many Hystersisters, and we want to give you cyberhugs after you receive your results, too.

Best wishes,
Helen

Hi JGolde1,

Sending more hugs your way. Waiting for test results can be very nerve-wracking ... almost as bad as waiting for surgery day. I hope you get the information you need from the CAT scan.

We are thinking of you and sending prayers your way. Please stop back and let us know what you find out and how you are doing.

Beth

I need new adjectives

 Is there any word to describe the fear of hearing the worst when your doctor calls regarding your test results?

The doctor said my results would be in by Friday but he was going skiing with his son so I had to wait the weekend before I could find out what is going on. I called this morning to find out that he was not due in until 2. The nurse said she would call me back but never did. I take that to be a bad sign. I waited until 2 and called and now they say they don't have the report. They asked me where I had the scan done. I told them that I had them done right there in the hospital but she still asked me for the telephone number for the results and she would call me back in 15 minutes. She called but she now says she has the chart and put it on his desk and he will call me between patients. Now I have to wait longer. I already know it's going to be bad news. Why do they make you wait so long? I can't take this waiting.

Hi, JGOLDE1,

Ack! I'm so sorry that you're still waiting. IF you haven't heard the results by the time your doctor's office is closing, I'd suggest calling back. Hang in there. We're still with you. I'm praying for good results.

Best wishes,
Helen

Good news

It is benign and I have options. The waiting was horrible. I had to call again and hold on the phone for 15 minutes but I finally spoke to the Dr. I am so happy. I am also glad I had a place to come where people understand how nerve wracking the waiting and wondering can be. I still have decisions to make so I will still visit the board. I am so glad I found this place. Thank you for your prayers and support.

Wanted to add my "thumbs up"as well. I believe everything happens for a reason. I don't know why you had to wait and suffer like you did. But, I'm sure another time will arise during this process when you'll feel really anxious. Perhaps you can remember this time and take comfort. We women are so good at worrying but all it really does it zap our strength!

Don't you feel like a million right now?? Such great news!

Best of luck!

Hi Jgolde1,

So glad to hear that the news was good.

Yes, I think we've all "been there" when it comes to having to wait on test results, doctors to call back, you name it. It's hard to describe this fear and frustration to someone who's never experienced it. It's enough to drive you crazy.

We hear you, we're all giving a big sigh of relief right along with you. Keep us posted on how you are doing and what you decide. We're here for you!
