How long is the Davinci surgery?

12/9/09 I had my uterus, tubes, ovaries & some lymph nodes removed. I was in the OR for about 3 1/2 hrs. The only pain I experienced was wicked gas pains which Gas-X and walking helped alot. I think DaVinci is great....I have 5 small incisions which are completely healed on the exterior. Follow up appt this coming Weds do determine if I'll need radiation. (endometrial cancer was the diagnosis going into surgery). DOn't worry about the surgery....stay calm, think positive, eat lots of ice chips and drink lots of fluids and you'll be fine. All I remember is seeing the OR, talking to the drs as they were getting thgs set up. Next thing I knew my dr. was telling me the surgery was over. I thought I was dreaming. Good luck to you! PCMB, I will be having the DaVinci on Friday, Jan 8th for adenocarcinoma with everything including lymph nodes taken out. Waiting for the pathology report will be terrible! I hope you get a good report and no further treatment. My endometrial biopsy showed adenocarcinoma but didn't have a grade. My doctor thinks it was caught early-didn't have any bleeding, just a light mucous discharge that I didn't know was something to be concerned about.

VCAZ.....Good luck with your surgery tomorrow....I will keep you in my thoughts & prayers. Sounds like you caught it REALLY early. and will do well. My first mucous discharge was probably 2-3 yrs ago. I had stage 1B. Because of the size of the tumor (5cm) and my age (68) the dr is recommending 3 vaginal cuff radiation treatments to lessen the risk of recurrence. I feel fine...all healed and regaining my energy. All I know is that I went into surgery around 1pm was in recovery at 4 and taken into my room at approx. 5pm. I had a complete hysterectomy, ovaries, and staging done. My surgery went well, and I am feeling great 3 month's out. I think everyone experience depends on the doctors experience, and how well they handle being under. I did great and was eating my first meal an hour after surgery. Hope your surgery goes well!!

I'm scheduled to have a radical hysterectomy with lymph nodes removed on Friday and my doc says 5 hours. Of course, I haven't had it yet, but he said that is standard for him.
