Fluid in uterus

Hi, I had an ablation and my right tube removed back in Oct 2012. Since then I've had moderate pain in my right side. The past two months the pain has become more debilitating and severe, lasting for days straight. My daughter talked me into going to the ER yesterday and after a cat scan the Dr told me that my "left side didn't look very good" and that I have fluid in my uterus. He couldn't explain why the pain is so severe in my right side only. The OBGYN that perform my ablation (whom is in her mid 30's) resigned months after my surgery as I was due back for a biopsy. I'm scared, anxious, upset, hurting, but mostly frustrated. Can anyone explain to me how the uterus retains fluid and what it could be? Also, why doesn't my left side hurt? Any answers will be helpful. I do now have an appt with an OBGYN who works in the same clinic as the other that resigned. For this reason, I'm thinking of making an appt with UofL. I also have grade 3 spondylolthesis & I assume for a long time that that was the culprit of all of this pain.

Re: Fluid in uterus

Hi apologize for commenting on a year old thread...well actually a 10 year old thread! But I thought I would share something I recently learned about ablations. I had an ablation 6 years ago, with very good results. Until about 6 months ago when I started having heavy cramping and light bleeding. I recently went to a new GYN because my old one kept telling me it was normal. As well has painful sex and spotting after sex. My new GYN is also an ultrasound specialist. He showed me on a big screen everything going on in my uterus. I had "fluid" which was missed uterine lining. He explained that the lining is growing back and causing the pain. Because my uterus is trying to get rid of the lining. Now I have only one ovary and have not had tubal ligation. BUT those who have had an ablation and a tubal ligation are at risk of pain. The excess fluid can't escape out the Fallopian Tube. This can cause severe pain.

Im so amazed that more drs don't know this. But after leaving my other GYNs office in tears, I took my uterus in my own hands! Lol. I know that what im feeling isn't normal...and I have options. That is what allows me to sleep at night.

Good luck ladies, and thank you all for sharing your stories.
