7 days post-op and miscarriage

Hello sisters. I had a radical abdominal hysterectomy on the 6th. I had been having problems for years and while I am not "thin", doctors had blamed my large stomach on food and ignored my symptoms. After years of suffering, I was taken to the ER by my husband 3 weeks ago for hemmoraging, and the exam revealed a tumor the size of a small watermelon, which completely hid my uterus which was also elnlarged to the size of a 7 month pregnancy. Mind you, I am 5'7" and was about a size 14 before the tumor--at surgery I was wearing a 22--mostly because of my stomach--but I had seen TONS of doctors none ever did ultrasound or even blood work, just blamed me and said I obviouslyl ate too much and needed a trainer. The night before my surgery, my doctor called at 10 pm to say that I was preganant--what????????? My HCG level was very low and I knew that I had to be at least 3 months along (too miserable for sex since then). THe next morning after 4 pregnancy confirmations and ultrasounds, he said that the baby was a chronic ectopic and had failed to develop but had not died completely--just stayed in the embryo stage--he called it bizarre. He left on vacation the morning after, told me to come in 4 weeks for post op--end of discussion. I am devastated and have no idea what to do. Any advice? All I can do is pray and cry--not to mention the extreme physical pain. He called my abdomen "Hiroshima" due to scar tissue, tumor growth, etc...

Re: 7 days post-op and miscarriage

I am so deeply sorry for your loss. I had an etopic 18 years ago. I was 20 at the time and my fallopian tube had ruptured which casued me to have an emergency surgery at that time. I do understand how you feel. You need time to process, grieve and heal from the loss. I am very sorry that your physician was not supportive or even sensative to your needs!!!! I was told at the time that I would never be able to have kids after that. Well that was not the case as I gave birth to 3 more children and lost 4 more. You will be in my prayers hun

I am sorrry to hear about your loss. SO if you don't mind what did happen? They did surgery anyway and had to take it out? That is scary. I am so sorry , i have never had that but I have had miscarriage and that devastated me at the time and I went into a depression. Prayers to you.

:cathugs:

I'm so sorry for your loss and the lack of care that you are getting. I wish I could say more, but there really isn't words to express. I do hope that you are getting the support at home that you need from your family and close friends.

Is it your PCP that went on vacation or your surgain, because a lot of times they want you to see your regular doctor in the mean time.

Millie Mouse, wow. I am so sorry for all you went through and so grateful for the doctors being wrong about you having children. I can't imagine the loss of 5 pregnancies--you must be such a strong woman. Thank you for your kind words.
