8 weeks post hysterectomy (TAH): Did I pop something?

I'm 8 weeks TAH post op with 6" vertical incision (kept both ovaries). On Wed. I put on a pair of jeans, not very tight but after about 15 mins of wearing them I had a strange, very concentrated pain low and to the left of the incision. I figured the pants were just too tight but days later, the pain persists. It feels sharp sometimes, and like a twinge or stitch other times. I am in soft pants today with my binder on and occasional ice. With weekend approaching, should I call the doc, or just rest this weekend assuming I tweaked something? I am also traveling by plane for work for the first time post surgery next week which means lift bags into the overhead and walking quite a bit. A little nervous about that as well.

Re: Did I pop something?

With the pain persisting this long, I think I would call the doctor and tell them about the pain. I can't imagine that the pants did something but maybe as you moved you tweaked something. You just never know and I always figure it is better to be safe than sorry.

I agree, you should call the Doc because it's persistent pain.

Also, don't be a hero on your flight!!! Please ask someone for help, the airline attendant or a fellow traveler. It would be terrible for you to have a setback now. Also, put a small pillow or cushion in your purse - even a sock with cotton balls in it would work! My first airplane trip after my open myomectomy was so painful because the seatbelt was exactly where my incisions were - yowch! I think I even put a maxi pad in front of my undies to protect my incision area the next time I traveled to keep from bumping and rubbing it.

You might have over did yourself I have a problem. Wearing jeans because of the vertical incision I also have because of the zipper. The binder helps alot I actual wear a thick surgical gauze that gives me a little cushion and doesn't feel weird. I also wear supportive shaper bottoms that helps me also. It might be just healing from the trauma your body has gone threw call the doctor just to put your mind at ease. Good luck on your travel and take it easy.
