Fibroids versus cysts?

Ok this may sound like a dumb question, but what is the difference between cysts and fibroids? Can anyone enlighten me?

There's no such thing as a dumb question. I had a TAH for both fibroid and cyst. I did some research before my surgery and found that a fibroid is a solid tumor that is usually found within and/or around the uterus. A cyst is a fluid-filled pouch located on or in an ovary. Both are usually benign. You can check the internet for more info. there's a lot out there. Good luck

Thank you! I was wondering. So maybe this "something funky/growth" is a fibroid? Dr said it is behind my cervix at top of my uterus or something like that. I know I know, I should have padi more attention! But with everything going on, my mind has been all over the place!
