Had My Pre-Op Today

Hey Everyone,I had my pre-op today,it went really well.My doctor spent about an hour going over everything with me,he answered every question I had,plus a few I threw out there at him!! Then I went over to the pre-op surgical center and met with the nurse's.All my doctor required me to do was have one tube of blood drawn.No bowel prep!! And I can have clear fluid's and broth or jello until two hour's before I go to the hospital!! (I gave him a big thank you for that before I left his office!!!) I am going to have a spinal w/sedation,this will be my first surgery.Man,I am so glad that's done with,good luck to the ladie's in waiting who are getting ready for their's.Take care

Glad to hear it went well. I see we are sisters in waiting (same date, same reasons, different surgery though). My preop is next Monday and I have to have a chest xray due to possible fluid from this other infection, but I can live with that if I get away without the bowel prep. I'm a surgical newbie as well. Never even had a regular doctor until last July. Now look where I am! But it will all be worth it in the end from what everyone else says.
