2 months pre-op any lupron users?

Hi-
7 days post-op and feeling GREAT!! I had the lupron injection twice befor sugery to reduce the huge fibroid on the back-outside wall of my uterus. Up until meeting w/ a new Dr. I had never heard of the drug. So we agreed to try for at least two months before a surgery was to take place so that Dr. could better get into my abdomin to perform a Laperscopic Supercervical Hysterectomy.
The first month 3-4 days after first shot I too had heavy heavy bleeding, hot flashes night sweats, and wild dreams. Second shot no bleeding but had every other effect. Unfortunatly the lupron had little to no effect on the shrinking of either my fibroid or uterus. Dr. told me after the surgery that the fibroid was even bigger than they once determined instead of a 12-14 week pregnancy size it was more like a 22-24 week size. He said he took some great pictures and @ my post-op appt he will show me.
So I guess everyones bodies are very different. Good luck!!

2 months pre-op any lupron users?

I am having my surgery on July 14th and like you I am doing three months of the lupron injections. I have four fibroids, a 7 cm, 4 cm and two small ones. This is ridiculous! Any way, I had my first injection last Monday and I had just finished my period. Two days ago I started bleeding, I am not to concerned since I read that this could be a side effect, but it is annoying. So far I have not had any hot flashes but according to everything I have read they tend to happen after two weeks of receiving the shots. Good luck! You go first, so I hope all goes well. I hope that these monster's will shrink so there will be no question about me having my surgery laproscopic.

2 months pre-op any lupron users?

After receiving my 2nd shot of lupron I stopped getting my period, have some spotting. The hot flashes have come on big time especially at nite! I think it's the tiredness that I find most annoying.

Wound up at gyn's office as I found a lump in my vaj-j-j (I felt it happen - disgusting!) I guess it's my fibroid pushing in argh! Thank goodness he said my area will snap back into place. He said he had hoped the lupron would shrink them more - but it hasn't, I will most likely have to have TAH wish me luck I find out in 2 weeks !!!!!!!

Great thing for Lupron users

I have been taking Lydia Pinkham herbal supplements for the last few weeks..I think after the Lupron shot. Works well on hot flashes, menstrual cramps, etc. You can purchase it at Walgreens--I found it in liquid and tablet form. It has been a godsend. Hope this helps anyone. Has all of your vitamin C, calcium and herbs used to reduce the hot flashes, etc. Be blessed--let me know how it goes. Anyone can use it really for help.
