Odd Question :)

Ok, I have been reading this site and still can't find an answer to my odd question. I have my belly button pierced and I know I have to take it out to have the LTVH but how soon afterwards will I be able to put it back in or will I even be able to? I have only had it 8 mths and it was something I waited 10 yrs to get. I know it is a stupid thing to worry about and yet I am. And just wondered if anyone else has had to deal with it. Thanks

Susan

Odd Question :)

Susan,

I had a LSH which went through my belly button. As I remember, my b.b. was pretty healed at around 6-8 weeks.

However, I am not a Dr. and that is a good question to ask him/her. You might even call and ask your Dr's nurse that question. I found my Dr's nurse very helpful with questions.

Good Luck.

Odd Question :)

I had a SAH/BSO on 5/19. As soon as I was coherent enough after surgery I put mine back in. That and my 25 earrings!

I did not have anything done through my belly button so this is just my experience.

Ask the doctor, I am sure you aren't the first to ask about navel piercings.

Good Luck.

Odd Question :)

Sounds like they may make a belly button incision. If that is the case, you probably won't be able to put it back in and will have ot have it redone after it's healed. I took mine out before a lap in March and couldn't put it back in. Then I had a TVH and even though I wasn't cut there, I still waited. I hope to get mine redone here in a few weeks.

Odd Question :)

I don't have a bb ring. But I did have an LAVH and one of the incisions was in my belly button. You need to discuss this one with your surgeron.

Odd Question :)

My lap cut was just under my belly button. When I'm all healed, I may get a BB ring too! Or a tatoo. I feel like I deserve some kind of survivor badge!

Yes, I'd ask the surgeon where he/she intends to cut. My neighbor showed me her healed incisions, from 4 and 11 years ago, and they truly were invisible. Only when she stretched and mooshed her tummy around could you tell there had been a cut, and just because the skin stretched differently.

Good luck and (((hugs)))!

Odd Question :)

Hi,

I had a TAH/BSO on 21 July and was able to put my belly bar back in the next day. No problemo!
