Stiches when do I see them come out 6 wks and not one has shown up yet is this normal

I am 6 weeks post op and I have not seen a stich coming out yet from no where, is this normal? do this mean that I am still not healing enough for them to come out?

I'm not sure what you mean, but most stitches placed under the skin will dissolve on their own. Stitches placed in the skin (black or blue thread) may have to be removed by a doctor. But you would be able to see these stitches.

the ones under the skin usually don't come out. THey dissolve.

In the vault, I never saw any stitches. They dissolved on their own. My doc told me not to worry.

Hope this helps.

I'm 3 months out and haven't seen a stitch yet. I've decided not to worry about it. At my 3 week check-up the doctor said I was healing well, so I'll take his word. If you're really concerned, call your doctor's office...they don't really tell us what to expect down the road IMHO.

Sometimes you don't see any of them and sometimes you only see a few. I know I had lots of sticthes but only saw four of them. That was round the 6 week mark and the doc had told me that most of them were already gone.

I'm not sure but I think some dissovle completely so there is nothing to fall out and others are just small enough to go unnoticed.

I'm sure I must have had my share of them too, but have never seen a bit of thread come out. And I'm way past any odd aroma from discharge. I'm willing to think this is normal!
