Scared to have sex with green light!! (sigh)

Ok, got the green light to resume sexual relations again, and I was so scared when we attempted, I kept being tense and just not a good person to want to have sex with period. I'm scared that it'll tear the vaginal cuff and everything..

Help ease my mind!!! thanks in advance for any helpful advice you can give me!!!

I don't know what kind of surgery you had, but I had a TVH with A & P Repair - quite extensive surgery. We were advised to wait 8 weeks and actually waited 9 since I had bleeding until 8 1/2 wks.

It's normal to be anxious, but if your Dr. says it's okay, you shouldn't tear anything. We certainly weren't too adventurous at first but it was a huge relief to know that things were okay and sex was good.

Take it easy, try to relax and trust that all will be good.

Hi Gina:

I don't blame you. It's perfectly natural to be a bit apprehensive.
I feel the same way. I know my DH will ask but I'm going to wait until I am good and ready - this time. After my first preg (4 weeks) the doctor gave us the go ahead. I definitely did not want to . . . but I was young (23) at the time and let DH talk me into it. Nothing bad happened. It was okay.

I just feel strongly now that I am not going to be 'pushed' into anything.

Gina, nothing bad will happen. Take your time. I will too.

I think we're all nervous the first time, but for me it didn't hurt at all and was LOTS of fun!

Just because you've been given the green light, it doesn't necessarily mean it's the right time for **you**. Take your time ~ no pressure ~ and everything should be OK, whether it's today, tomorrow or next week ...

It may help you to read this HS article <link> Resuming Sex Post-Op also.

Wishing you all the very best! Take care.
