It's been a while

I haven't posted in a while and I thought I might touch base as well as ask a few questions to anyone out there dealing with Adenomyosis.
I have had heavy heavy bleeding for years and years (very first period when I was 9 felt like it about killed me) it got really worse during an IUD I had and after a long haul trying to get PG with my baby (now 4) my periods are worse than ever more painful than anything I have ever experienced (3 births 2 of which were c-section and one very natural and even worse than the pain from spinal meningitis I had when I was 23)
Ok so back to the question sorry. SO it hurt, and it was heavy but on 2/8/06 I had a D&C and Depo shot post-op (I'm guessing this might be something normally done for Adeno.
I have not stopped leaking.. I mean I am always bleeding!! I'm just wondering if anyone had experience with this ?
I just need to feel not so alone right now I guess all my so call friends around here just say " what your bleeding again!?" like it's a problem for them or something.
My Hysterectomy will probably happen in April and the Nurse for the GYN said my cervix just hasn't closed yet but man I mean 41 days ?!?! Any input would be just great.

Hi,

I have adenomyosis too and also feel I'm always bleeding. I've had problems with irregular bleeding for a couple of years, but it is getting really bad now and is interfering with my daily function. It is very annoying. I bleed for two weeks off, have a break for 10 days and then it starts up again. I feel like I'm always bleeding or having a full fledged period. My adeno was picked up by an MRI and my doctor said that my uterus is boggy.

You're not alone. I know how hard it is!

Count me in. I found out I had it after surgery. I was anemic for years. I am so glad I had this surgery. I feel so much better now.... Best wishes.

I did not have adeno, but I had bleed for over 2 yrs prior to my hyst. My failed D&C was about 7 weeks prior to my hyst, and I never stopped bleeding. Bled right into OR for my hyst. For the record, I also bleed for 3 more months afterward! So, I feel for you!

Here are some resources with regard to adeno: Endo/Adeno Resources.

If you do find you will be having a hyst for sure, you may wish to check out our Pre-Op Section for information about hyst types and questions to ask your dr.

Best wishes to you!
