8 months post hysterectomy: Brown Discharge & Discomfort

Please help. I am 8 months post op. I had my uterus and right ovary removed. Within the last month I have been experiencing a lot of discomfort in the lower abdominal area. It feels like how I would feel during my period. I have also had a brown discharge. I have not had enough to soil a pad, but every time I wipe I'm getting this discharge. I have asked friends and family who have also had hysterectomies and no one has experienced this. I did call my doctor, but of course she is on vacation. I am hoping that someone here may have experienced something similar. Thanks in advance for your responses.

Re: Brown Discharge & Discomfort

I literally just got off the phone with my doctor. I am only 4 weeks out and wiped today and had little brown "bits" - they said ti was the body ridding itself of old tissue….but at 8 months I would call back your office and see who is on call for your doctor. Good luck.
